Booking

How far in advance should I book?

Most weeks we can fit you in within 3–5 days. Same-day and next-day cleans are sometimes available — try the quiz or call us and we'll do our best.

Do I have to be home during the clean?

That's up to you. Many clients leave a key, a smart-lock code, or a hidden entry — and come home to a finished clean. Every Opal pro is background-checked and bonded.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes — reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before your appointment with no fee. After that, a small fee may apply to cover the housekeeper's reserved time.

How do recurring cleans work?

Pick a cadence — weekly, every two weeks, or every four. We hold the same time slot for you, with the same lead housekeeper whenever possible. You can pause or change anytime.

Pricing

How are cleans priced?

Our quote model considers square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms, and the type of clean. You get a flat, upfront price before you book — no hidden fees, no hourly surprises.

Are tips included?

Never required. If you'd like to tip, you can do it in-app after the clean — 100% goes directly to your housekeeper.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes — 20% off your first clean when you take the Opal Quiz, plus recurring-cleaning savings of 10–15% depending on cadence.

When am I charged?

Card on file is authorized 24 hours before the clean and charged the morning of. We send a receipt automatically.

What's the difference between a Glimmer and a Brilliance Clean?

Glimmer is the recurring refresh — surfaces, floors, kitchen, bathrooms. Brilliance is the full reset that adds baseboards, inside the oven and fridge, behind appliances, and the details a Glimmer skips.

When should I book a Fresh Start?

Before move-in or after move-out. Our most thorough clean — inside cabinets, inside drawers, windows, and walls included. Built to landlord and realtor standards.

Can I customize what's included?

Always. Add focus areas, skip rooms, request specific products, or note allergies. Tell us in the booking notes and we'll build the clean around you.

Products & Pets

What products do you use?

Plant-based, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and pet-safe. We bring everything we need. If you'd prefer we use a product you already have, leave it out and let us know.

Are your products safe for pets?

Yes — every product is non-toxic and pet-safe. If your pet is anxious around strangers, we recommend a quiet room during the visit and a note in your booking.

I have allergies — can you accommodate?

Yes. We can use fragrance-free formulas, skip specific ingredients, or use products you provide. Let us know in your booking notes.

Our Team

Are your housekeepers employees or contractors?

Employees. Every Opal pro is W-2, insured, bonded, and paid above market rates. We don't use 1099 marketplaces.

How are housekeepers vetted?

Multi-step interview, paid trial day, full background check, and two paid weeks of training before they're on a route alone.

Will I get the same housekeeper each time?

Whenever possible, yes — that's how recurring cleans work best. If your lead is on vacation or out sick, a fully-trained Opal pro covers, and we let you know in advance.
